This sunday began the second part of the season. The Cincinnati Bengals visited the defending champs Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field. It was another division rivalry to determine wich team would control the AFC north.
The Cardiac Cats needed a reference victory like this one. a close game in which you don't make the difference on the last play of the game but you build it slowly but surely. After a 28 yards field goal by Jeff Reed (4/4) for the Steelers, on the following kickoff, Bengals' rookie Bernard Scott (photo below n° 28) performed a tremendous return to score a 96 yards touchdown.

We knew about Bengals' offensive capacity but now we're aware they're able to defend more than decently. Pittsburgh wasn't able to score any touchdown during the entire game plus, Cincinnati made the defending champs very uncomfortable by putting a sticky pressure on Roethlisberger's shoulders who didn't find any solution to score a touchdown. Pittsburgh's thrower completed 20 on his 40 pass attempts but no touchdown and he was picked once.

As usual, when there's no solution, Roethlisberger feels obiged to make the decision by his self. So he was sacked 4 times (photos below n°7) and even when he's about to fall down, he tries some desperate moves no to lose big yardage.
By the way, my point is, and it's not new, Steelers' thrower keeps too long the damn ball and as talented he is, he can not get out every complicated situations by a fake.

Both teams defended well against the running game, each team's halfbacks don't compile much more than 50 running  yards. Then it was a field goal contest won by Cincinnati's precision kicker Shane Graham (photo below n° 17) even if he missed his first attempt to put the first points on the scoreboard, he converted 4/5, his longest for a 43 yards distance.

After a pretty solid game, the Bengals won this very defensive game
on a 18-12 score, in wich no touchdown has been scored except the one on the kickoff return. They well adapted to their opponent, they showed they know how to play a smooth rythm. If they continue this way, they're will very tough to beat even for the defending champs.
They clearly sent a message:

"Beware of the (Cardiac) Cats!"...
