The Tennessee Titans show a complete different face that the one they did until week 6 and I do believe things couldn't get worst at this moment. The starter
quarterback changed and, with that move, the Titans stay on 5 straight wins and they're currently 3rd of the AFC south still led by the undefeated Indianapolis Colts. This sunday, the
Tennessee defeated the Arizona Cardinals to reap their 5th victory in a row. Titans' record is now 5-6 and reaching a playoff berth is not a fading fantasy anymore. I do believe this change
appeared with Vince Young's back, statistics don't lie.
Against the Cardinals, Young (photo below n°10) threw for 387, completed 27 on his 43 atttempts plus he found rookie Kenny Britt for the winning touchdown with 2.37 remaining in
regulation.
The other part of this success is named Chris Johnson. Against the Cardinals he performed a 3rd 150 yard game. Barry Sanders who's considered as the best
tailback of all time ran for 150 or more yards in 5 games during the 1997 season. Johnson (photo below n°28) needs 2 other big games to tie Sanders' record.
However Johnson's name isn't mentionned when the NFL talks about the MVP.
But Johnson performed even the Titans lost. For exemple, during their 59-0 loss against the Pats, Titans' halfback ran for 128 yards in just 17 carries. And what does it mean?
It just means he doesn't need 30 or 35 carries to be productive plus you could contain him but, sooner or later, he'll find open space, avoid tackles with cut moves and at this
moment, it's time for you to say bye bye...
Just like he did against the last Superbowl losers, he scored a 85 yard touchdown. he started his run from his own 15 yard line and ended it in opponent's endzone (photo below n°28), this distance
is already big for a touchdown pass but there, it's a run, oh man!!!
During this ball game he carried the ball 18 times for a total gain of 154 yards. And Johnson is just a sophomore!
Everybody compares him to Adrian Peterson but the truth is despite his lack of power, he's got better stats.
Peterson compile 1084 yards in 230 carries, his average is already quite good with 4.7 yards per carry, he add 12 touchdowns so far. On the other side, Johnson totals up 1396 yards in 217 carries
for 6.4 average yards per carry.
Freakin' unbelievable!
My point is Titans' success matches most of all with the performances of these 2 big guys!
